Market Lens is designed to tell object stories without building an advertising profile about you.

AI photo analysis

We upload a photo only after you explicitly choose “Allow & analyse”. The photo and optional context go to the Market Lens API and then to OpenRouter and its selected vision-model provider. We request zero-data-retention routing. Market Lens does not save analysis photos, prompts, or results on its server. Analysis results and Bazaar Cards stay on your device unless you choose to submit a field note.

Device access and limits

The API stores an anonymous device-token hash, successful-analysis counters, expiry and rate-limit counters so the three complimentary Bazaar Card stories and fair-use limits can be applied. Failed or unreadable analyses do not use a complimentary story. We do not use an advertising identifier.

Subscriptions

Apple processes payments. RevenueCat receives an anonymous Market Lens device identifier and subscription status so the app and API can restore and verify Market Lens Plus access. Market Lens does not receive your full payment-card details.

Field-note submissions

A contribution is optional. Its photo, market, location and note are stored privately for editorial review. Nothing is automatically public. You can remove a pending submission from the same device; contact support for other requests.

Your choices

You can revoke AI-photo permission in Settings, delete local cards, restore purchases, or use the editorial market guide without AI analysis.
